- Bridal shops: While this may seem an unlikely place to find a prom dress, you’ll find an assortment of fancy gowns in a bridal shop. Look for bridesmaids dresses, especially any that are on sale or clearance, for a good deal.
- Torrid: If you’d like to buy a new dress, check out a plus size retailer like Torrid. They carry prom dresses in a range of prices. The least expensive will cost less than $100 and you can find a large variety of matching accessories that won’t break the bank.
- Prom Dress Shop: This retailer carries everything a girl could possibly need for the prom. While some dresses will fall into the more expensive range, they also sell cheap plus size prom dresses categorized for under $100 and under $200.
- PromGirl: You’ll find a large selection of gowns here in every color and style imaginable. Plus size girls will have their pick of short dresses or full length gowns.
While new styles come out every year, check for last year’s styles, which will probably be discounted. There are usually not many differences between the years’ fashions, but just having something newer will make it more expensive.
