• In addition, we construct each piece with details such as light fabrics to avoid bulk, stretch fabric to provide shape and draping to accent plus-size women’s best features to help make them look their very best.

Is there a particular style vibe Old Navy Plus tries to portray (i.e. young, trendy, conservative)?

For Old Navy Women’s Plus customers, we design our collections for all occasions – a feminine outfit for work, a casual look for the weekend, a few trendy pieces for a night on the town – all at a great, affordable price.

Please tell us about some of the styles in the latest collection.

Tie-Front Shirt Dress plus Ribbon Belt

The "Pretty and Preppy" look is one of my favorites for the fall. We’re offering great classic pieces with a modern twist including sweaters with bright, fun icons; ribbon belts and twinsets. We also have a strong assortment with unique, feminine details like darting, pleating, pintucks and subtle ruffles that should be in every woman’s closet this fall. These items can be dressed up with a pencil skirt, or dressed down with our great dark wash jeans.

We are also featuring some of fall’s “go to” colors in a wide variety of silhouettes. This season’s “go-to” colors come straight from a jewel box. Think inky blues, teal, purples and burgundy.

The Customers

How has the reaction from plus sized customers been to this division of Old Navy?

The reaction to our Plus line has been very positive.

In general, the Women’s Plus customer has been underserved in the marketplace. She can buy affordable pieces, with limited fashion choices; or she can find fashion pieces, but will have to pay a lot of money for them.

For our customers, they can enjoy the best of both worlds – great fashion at an affordable price – so again, our Women’s Plus products have been well received.

For anyone not familiar with Old Navy, particularly full figured women who aren't aware that you have this line, what would you like to tell them?

The Old Navy Women’s Plus products are designed specifically for women sizes 16-30 -- everything from the fit, construction and fashion.

• Fit: We don’t just make the clothes from our women’s line “bigger.” They are carefully scaled to fit a plus-sized customer, with special attention to the hips, arm and leg openings, for example.

• Construction: Each piece in the collection has been constructed with fabrics and details to flatter the plus-size women. The right jersey fabric will drape beautifully across her body; light-weight silks and knits will provide some volume and balance to her silhouette, but without adding bulk; and we provide stretch where appropriate to maintain comfort without sacrificing style.

• Fashion: We take the latest trends from each season and provide a wide range of clothing options for work, going out, lounge, activewear and much more.
