Catch the Eye Profile Opening Lines

There is an ad for a famous online dating site where a woman is riding a horse along a trail, and she says, “I’m just a goof looking for my ball.”  That is an example of a great opening line for a profile.

You want your first line or two of your profile to be reflective of the very essence of you. It can be funny or serious but what it needs to do is to inspire the reader to want to know you better.

How about some of these:

- Wanted – dancing partner – if we can successfully make it around the dance floor who knows what we might do together in life!

- ER Nurse use to making hearts beat faster looking for someone to do the same for me!

- Love long walks…anywhere but the beach! I’m looking for a mountain man over a surfer dude to hike the next hills with me.

- I’m off to see the rest of the world! I can’t guarantee we will make it to Oz, but the South of France looks promising.

These are all great opening lines I found on good dating sites. Moreover, they are producing results as many of these profiles also had notes thanking readers for looking but they were just starting a relationshp.

Notice please that all of these opening profile statements had nothing to do plus size or sex. Please do not get me wrong, everyone needs and deserves a healthy sex life and I will address that in my next blog. Consider, as a BFF of mine said recently, even when that kind of connection – block- out-everything-first –moments-of-lust kind -eventually you do have to surface for air and then what?
